Date confirmed for newsawards 2019
8 May 2019 – that’s the date to put into your diaries for newsawards 2019. Over 500 news media industry executives, journalists, sponsors and suppliers will once again gather at the Royal Lancaster London where all the 2019 winners will be revealed.
Last year’s event, hosted by BBC TV news broadcaster Kate Silverton, was a resounding success. Big winners on the night included The Sun which won the Grand Prix for the second year running; St Clements Press and Mortons Print which took the Newspaper Printer of the Year titles; The Times, winner of National Newspaper of the Year and The Press and Journal, winner of Regional Newspaper of the Year. The FT was awarded News Website of the Year while Reuters Connect scooped the International Digital Innovation of the Year award.
2018 was the inaugural year for the Young Achiever of the Year Award, which was won by Emma Mann from Isle of Man Newspapers.
Gary Cullum director of newsawards and publisher of PJ, says: “The newsawards team is currently confirming its 2019 sponsors and I’m delighted to report that we’ve already had a number of existing sponsors committing to next year’s Awards. These include headline sponsor Fujifilm and premier sponsors Resolute Forest Products, UPM and Agfa. In the coming months we will announce our other 2019 sponsors.”
The newsawards 2019 Entry Form will be posted on the newsawards website early in November and it will also be featured in November’s issue of PJ.
